1. Who we are

SparkServ ("we", "our") provides a scheduling and job management platform for electricians and their customers. This policy explains how we use personal data when you use our website and services.

2. Data we collect

We collect and process data you give us when you sign up or use the service: name, email address, phone number, address and postcode (for customers and electricians), company details and working preferences (for electricians). We also store booking and job details, payment-related records (e.g. that a payment was made; we do not store your full card number), and communications we send (e.g. booking confirmations and reminders). We use cookies and similar technology where needed to run the service (e.g. keeping you logged in).

3. How we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve the service: to create and manage your account, process bookings, send booking confirmations and job reminders (by email and/or SMS), manage invoices and payments, and support you when you contact us. We use third-party providers for hosting (e.g. Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Resend) and SMS (Twilio); they process data on our instructions to deliver the service. We do not sell your data to third parties for marketing.

4. Legal basis (UK)

We process your data where necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the service), where we have a legitimate interest (e.g. security, improving the service), or where you have given consent (e.g. marketing, if we offer it). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

5. Retention and security

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax or regulatory reasons. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data; our main systems and databases are hosted in secure, accredited environments.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights including: access to your data, correction of inaccuracies, erasure in certain cases, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to certain processing. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). To exercise your rights or ask questions about this policy, contact us using the details below.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Contact

For privacy or data use questions, contact us at info@sparkserv.net or via the details on our Contact page. You can also read our Terms of Service.
